Adams County Auditor
The Board of Supervisors of Adams County, Iowa, hereby give notice pursuant to Iowa Code Section §69.14A of its intent to fill a vacancy for the office of Adams County Auditor by appointment. The vacancy will be effective 6/2/2025. The appointment shall be for the period of time from 6/2/2025 to the next pending election, being November 3rd, 2026. The Adams County Board of Supervisors will meet to interview the afternoon of May 27th, morning of May 28th, and the evening of May 29th. The board intends to appoint the Adams County Auditor position on Monday, June 2, 2025 during the regular board meeting.
Applicants should submit a cover letter & resume to the Adams County Auditor’s office by email at auditor@adamscounty.iowa.gov, by mail at 500 9th St Corning, IA 50841, or by dropping them off in the Auditor’s Office at the Adams County Courthouse. Deadline to submit the required paperwork is 12:00 pm on Friday, May 23rd, 2025.
You are further notified that the electors of Adams County have the right to file a petition requiring the vacancy be filled by special election. Said petition must be filed with the County Auditor within 14 days after the first publication of this notice or within 14 days after the appointment is made, and said petition shall contain signatures of eligible electors of the county equal in number to at least ten percent of the votes cast in Adams County for the office of President of the United States in the November 2024 election.
