As of January 2026, the City of Corning, Iowa, has mandated that all recycling containers be removed from their location on John Street. All recycling containers will be removed by Saturday, January 31, 2026. This change follows requests from city leadership regarding the management and location of these facilities.
The Adams County Board of Supervisors is currently evaluating alternative options for recycling placement and services. Residents and interested parties should note the following:
- Alternative Disposal: For assistance with bulky item pickup or ongoing recycling and trash concerns, residents can contact Corning City Hall at 641-322-3062 or reach out directly to Waste Management at 641-782-6707.
- Board Meetings: The Adams County Board of Supervisors meets every Monday at 9:00 a.m. at the Adams County Courthouse (500 9th Street, Corning). These meetings are open to the public for those wishing to hear updates on the relocation of the containers.
