The Adams County Board of Supervisors met on Monday, June 27, 2022 at 9:00 AM with the following members present: Bobbi Maynes, Leland Shipley, Merlin Dixon, Scott Akin, and Doug Birt. The meeting was called to order by Chairperson Birt and the Pledge of Allegiance was recited. Akin moved, seconded by Maynes to approve the agenda for the day along with the minutes of the June 20, 2022 meeting. All supervisors voted aye. Motion carried.
Karl McCarty, Secondary Roads Maintenance Supervisor, gave an update on the department. Akin moved, seconded by Maynes to approve leasing a semi-tractor trailer from Brown NationalLease for 6 years at a rate of $2957.62 per month and .090 cents per mile. Adams County provides the driver, the cost of fuel and liability and collision insurance. All supervisors voted aye. Motion carried.
Akin moved, seconded by Shipley to approve Utility Permit 22-04 for SIRWA in the northeast part of Quincy township on 190th Street. All supervisors voted aye. Motion carried.
Maynes moved, seconded by Dixon to approve the PPCB Bridge Replacement of Quincy 8 bridge on Ginkgo Avenue, Project #FM-C002(80)-55-02. All supervisors voted aye. Motion carried.
Secondary roads have closed Prescott 13 bridge on 190th due to unsafe conditions.
Donna Hogan discussed that ACEDC had a preciously requested money for a marketing position. Due to the new hire of Raelynne Risser as the ACEDC Director, they are wanting to hold off on hiring a marketing position and see how the Director position will develop and change. Risser has a lot of marketing experience so now the need for a position like that might not be there anymore.
Akin moved, seconded by Dixon to approve the claims. All supervisors voted aye. Motion carried.

Department Head Reports: Sheriff’s Department – the transmission went out in the Tahoe, Hy-Vee will be providing the jail meals moving forward, the department is working on updating policies using Lexipol. Treasurer – the Tax Sale has been completed with net proceeds of $39,479.50. Three parcels did not sell. It was considered a success. Secondary Roads – Receiving new truck tomorrow and will then be ready to haul contract rock again.
