Board Minutes – June 20, 2022

The Adams County Board of Supervisors met on Monday, June 20, 2022 at 9:00 AM with the following members present: Bobbi Maynes, Leland Shipley, Merlin Dixon, Scott Akin, and Doug Birt. The meeting was called to order by Chairperson Birt and the Pledge of Allegiance was recited. Akin moved, seconded by Maynes to approve the agenda for the day along with the minutes of the June 13, 2022 meeting.  All supervisors voted aye.  Motion carried.

Karl McCarty, Secondary Roads Maintenance Supervisor, gave an update on the department. The scrub seal is done on Birch Ave. They will be renting a machine to plane the blow ups off the pavements.

Julie Krauth approached the board regarding purchasing a County Held Tax Sale parcel #8748100 for $2,000. Shipley moved, seconded by Maynes to release the parcel to Krauth for $2,000. All supervisors voted aye.  Motion carried.

Shipley moved, seconded by Maynes to approve Resolution 2022-24 Transfer Hotel Motel Fund to Conservation Reserve Fund.

 All supervisors voted aye.  Motion carried. Attested by Auditor Bissell. The original resolution is on file at the Auditor’s Office.

Auditor Becky Bissell shared the Post-Election Audit was performed on June 15, 2022 at 2:00 pm. The Audit Board was able to confirm the machine count to the hand count performed by the Audit Board and everything matched perfectly.

Board reviewed Ordinances Chapters 22-24.

Conservation – Camping season is all going well. Marti has found a bow hunting education course that they are looking to provide and there are available grants to put in an archery range. IT – Tom Williams attended the ICIT conference and learned a lot.  EMA – Bill Lyddon reminded the board of the upcoming mitigation meeting this Thursday. Sheriff – Sheriff Johannes shared with the board his office helped with the escort and guarding the body of the fallen Deputy from Fremont County.  Auditor – Auditor Bissell will be attending Summer School for the remainder of the week.

            Committee and Meeting reports were presented as follows:  Shipley – Main St., June 13, Corning; Birt – SICOG, June 6 and 15, Creston.

            Akin moved, seconded by Maynes to adjourn at 10:00 am.  All supervisors voted aye.  Motion carried.
