The Adams County Board of Supervisors met on Monday, July 6, 2020 at 9:00 am with the following members present: Leland Shipley, Scott Akin, Merlin Dixon, Doug Birt and Bobbi Maynes. The meeting was called to order by Chairperson Scott Akin. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited. Birt moved, seconded by Shipley to approve today’s agenda along with the minutes of the June 29th meeting. All supervisors voted aye. Motion carried.
Birt moved, seconded by Maynes to approve Resolution 2020-34 Driveway Entrance Policy. All supervisors voted aye. Motion carried.
Maynes moved, seconded by Dixon to approve Resolution 2020-35 approving Contract and Bonds with Peterson Contractors, Inc. for Streambank Stabilization NR206114XXXXC014. All supervisors voted aye. Motion carried.
Engineer Travis Malone updated the board on current and upcoming projects: Juniper Avenue concrete has been laid and are now working on the shoulders and tearing out the old entrance at Loomis Avenue, EWP projects will be starting soon, and Sycamore Avenue, the highway going to Lenox, is getting an overlay and will be down to a moving one lane during the project.
Birt moved, seconded by Dixon to approve the following quotes for the ADA Door Project: Dasher Electric for lighting and outlet-$900, Communications Solutions of S. Iowa- $2,624.10, Lighthouse Glass for new door -$2,780, Byers Lock Shop – $463.85 to the Adams. All supervisors voted aye. Motion carried.
Oral reports were presented by the board members as follows: Maynes – RCD, July 2, Creston.
Shipley moved, seconded by Dixon to adjourn the meeting at 10:45 pm.
