Board Minutes – February 24, 2020
The Adams County Board of Supervisors met on Monday, February 24, 2020 at 9:00 am with the following members present: Leland Shipley, Scott Akin, Doug Birt, Merlin Dixon. Bobbi Maynes was absent. The meeting was called to order by Chairperson Scott Akin. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited. Birt moved, seconded by Shipley to approve the day’s agenda along with the February 18, 2020 minutes. All supervisors voted aye. Motion carried.
Birt moved, seconded by Shipley to approve Resolution 2020-11 Streambank Stabilization (West) and Resolution 2020-12 Streambank Stabilization East authorizing the advertising and letting of bids for Agreements NR206114XXXXC007 and NR206114XXXXC017. All supervisors voted aye. Motion carried.
Discussion was held regarding a Road Use Agreement with Southern Hills for a wind project in Carl Township.
Emergency Director Bill Lyddon discussed with the board an electrical problem that has arisen from work being done in the Sheriff’s office. O’Neal Electrical Company would like to put in a second electrical panel to determine what the generator is currently backing up. Shipley moved, seconded by Dixon to approve the quote from O’Neal Electrical Company for $1,350.00 to do the extra work. All supervisors voted aye. Motion carried.
Emergency Director Bill Lyddon gave an update on the radio system. The completion date has been moved from March to May.
Dixon moved, seconded by Shipley to approve Liquor License LC0042441 for Corning Winery. All supervisors voted aye. Motion carried.
Dixon moved, seconded by Birt to approve Resolution 2020-9 transferring $38,000 from LOST Funds to the Conservation Reserve Fund. All supervisors voted aye. Motion carried.
Shipley moved, seconded by Dixon to open public Hearing at 10:00 am. All supervisors voted aye. Motion carried. There were no written or oral objections presented during the public hearing. Birt moved, seconded by Shipley to the close public hearing at 10:05 am. All supervisors voted aye. Motion carried.
Birt moved, seconded by Dixon to approve Resolution 2020-10 approving the Budget Max Levy. All supervisors voted aye. Motion carried.
Shipley moved, seconded by Dixon to set the public hearing on March 16th, 2020 at 10:00 am. for the Proposed Budget for FY 20/21.
