The Adams County Board of Supervisors met on Tuesday, February 18, 2020 at 9:00 am with the following members present: Leland Shipley, Scott Akin, Merlin Dixon, and Bobbi Maynes. Doug Birt was absent. The meeting was called to order by Chairperson Scott Akin. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited. Dixon moved, seconded by Shipley to approve the agenda along with the minutes from the February 10, 2020. All supervisors voted aye. Motion carried.
Matt Garwood, Tanya Olson, and Matthew Johll with RPM Access presented to the board a map of 20 potential wind turbines that are projected to be erected in Carl Township.
County Engineer Travis Malone gave a deficiency list of 120 bridges that are going to be inspected. Union 20 on Union Avenue 1 mile north of Highway 34, Nodaway 1 on 220th Street in between Fig and Ginkgo Avenues, and Union 23 on Willow Avenue half mile north of Highway 34 were closed immediately. Jasper 13 on 270th Street. just West of Hwy 148 is on the watch list.
Conservation Director Travis Paul discussed with the board building plans from Lucas county of their nature center. Paul said that Conservation is in the beginning planning process for such a facility.
Discussion was held regarding the employee handbook section 2.4 Closing for Inclement Weather.
Committee reports were given as following: Shipley – Main Street, Feb 11, Corning, Main Street. EV, Feb 12, Corning, and Conservation, Feb 13, Corning; Dixon – WIOA, Feb 12, Corning, and Conservation, Feb 13, Corning.
