Board Minutes – February 14, 2022

The Adams County Board of Supervisors met on Monday, February 14, 2022 at 9:00 am with the following members present: Bobbi Maynes via Zoom, Leland Shipley, Merlin Dixon, Doug Birt and Scott Akin. The meeting was called to order by Chairperson Birt and the Pledge of Allegiance was recited. Akin moved, seconded by Shipley to approve the agenda for the day and to approve the minutes of the February 7, 2022 meeting.  All supervisors voted aye.  Motion carried. There were no public comments.

Shipley moved, seconded by Akin to approve the DOT 5-year plan.  All supervisors voted aye.  Motion carried.

Shipley moved, seconded by Akin to set a public hearing for 10:30 am on February 28th for reclassification of Union Avenue Sec 3 of Colony Township.  All supervisors voted aye.  Motion carried. 

Chris Nelson and Roger Sorensen with the Johnny Carson Birthplace Society requested funds to help with the project to replace windows for an estimated $12,000 at the Johnny Carson birthplace. No action was taken.

Akin moved, seconded by Shipley to approve the claims as follows. All supervisors voted aye.  Motion carried.

Dixon moved, seconded by Maynes to approve the Urban Renewal Joint Agreement between Adams and The City of Corning. All supervisors voted aye.  Motion carried.

Discussion was held on the courthouse renovations.

            Department Head Reports: Auditor – Special Election currently underway, Recorder – Septic Grants have been submitted, Conservation – They have held 6 interviews and narrowed it down to two, continue to do minor improvements to the Assistant Pak Ranger’s house, repairing wood duck boxes, Sheriff – trucks are getting upfitted soon and will be in service after.  Treasurer, IT, EMA, and Secondary Roads had no reports.

            Akin moved, seconded by Dixon to adjourn the meeting.  All supervisors voted aye.  Motion carried.
