Board Minutes – December 27, 2021

The Adams County Board of Supervisors met on Monday, December 27, 2021 at 9:00 am with the following members present: Bobbi Maynes, Leland Shipley, Merlin Dixon, Doug Birt and Scott Akin. The meeting was called to order by Chairperson Maynes and the Pledge of Allegiance was recited. Akin moved, seconded by Shipley to approve the agenda for the day and to approve the minutes of the December 20th and December 21st meeting minutes.  All supervisors voted aye.  Motion carried.

There were no public comments.

Shipley moved, seconded by Akin to approve the Family Farm Applications for the year that had been received by November 1, 2021.  All supervisors voted aye.  Motion carried.

Birt moved, seconded by Shipley to set a public hearing for January 3, 2022 at 10:00 am for Ordinance 2022-1 approving the Election Precincts.  All supervisors voted aye.  Motion carried.

Birt moved, seconded by Akin to approve the claims as presented.  All supervisors voted aye.  Motion carried.

Department Head Reports: Recorder – Carl Goodson, County Sanitarian, will be presenting to the board information that he has received concerning a new grant opportunity for new septic systems in underserved communities. Treasurer – Things are running smoothly.  IT – Have finished the migration to Office 365 with very few issues and it came in under budget.  Emergency Management – No report.  Secondary Roads – Working on Hull Street bridge and trees. 

            Discussion was held on the proposed renovation project and the options for moving the dispatch area during renovations as well as other items.  It was requested to see the debt levy figures for the last 5 years for continued discussion.

            Committee and Meeting reports were presented as follows:  Shipley – Main Street, Corning, Dec. 20, Dixon – SCI-911, Creston, December 22, Akin- Southern Hills, Corning, Dec. 22.

            Akin moved, seconded by Dixon to adjourn the meeting at 9:59 am.
