Board Minutes – December 13, 2021
The Adams County Board of Supervisors met on Monday, December 13, 2021 at 9:00 am with the following members present: Bobbi Maynes, Leland Shipley, Merlin Dixon, Doug Birt and Scott Akin. The meeting was called to order by Chairperson Maynes and the Pledge of Allegiance was recited. Akin moved, seconded by Dixon to approve today’s agenda and the minutes from December 6, 2021. All supervisors voted aye. Motion carried.
Engineer Travis Malone gave an update on the Secondary Roads Department. Travis is still working with Robinson Implement on a request to Kubota that would allow Robinson Implement to quote a skid steer to Secondary Roads. Malone will be attending the Annual Engineer’s Conference in Des Moines this week. Concrete is being poured for the bridge on Lincoln 16 on 130th St. Govig Inc is getting a quote for the bridge on Willow Ave.
Shipley moved, seconded by Akin to approve the Utility Permit #21-15 for SIRWA to bore under 240th West of Aspen. All supervisors voted aye. Motion carried.
Birt moved, seconded by Dixon to approve the claims as followed. All supervisors voted aye. Motion carried.

Donna Hogan and Beth Waddle presented the Adams Community Economic Development Corporation Annual Update and presented the FY 2022/2023 budget request.
Shipley moved, seconded by Akin to approve the 2021 City/School Election Invoices. All supervisors voted aye. Motion carried.
Akin moved, seconded by Birt to approve the Iowa SOS HAVA Cybersecurity Grant Agreement for $10,000. All supervisors voted aye. Motion carried.
Akin moved, seconded by Dixon to table approving the salaries for FY 22/23. All supervisors voted aye. Motion carried.
Birt moved, seconded by Shipley to approve moving the postage costs from individual department’s budgets that are currently paid from General Basic fund to Central Services. All supervisors voted aye. Motion carried.
Birt moved, seconded by Dixon to approve the DCI Proposal for providing assistance in preparation for a March 2022 Bond Referendum. All supervisors voted aye. Motion carried.
Committee and Meeting reports were presented as follows: Maynes – Compensation board, Dec. 8, Corning; Birt – SICOG, Dec 7, Creston, Special Conservation, Dec 7, Corning, and Conservation, Dec 9, Corning; and Akin – EMA, Dec 8, Corning.
Akin moved, seconded by Shipley to adjourn the meeting at 11:30 am. All supervisors voted aye. Motion carried.
