Board Minutes – April 11, 2022

The Adams County Board of Supervisors met on Monday, April 11, 2022 at 9:00 am with the following members present: Bobbi Maynes, Leland Shipley, Merlin Dixon, Scott Akin, and Doug Birt. The meeting was called to order by Chairperson Birt and the Pledge of Allegiance was recited. Akin moved, seconded by Shipley to approve the agenda for the day along with the minutes of the April 4, 2022 meeting.  All supervisors voted aye.  Motion carried.

During the Public Comments Jamie Stargell representing a MainStreet committee discussed working on a business incubator project and was requesting letters of support from Elected officials for the project.

            Republican Candidate Paul Dykstra for State Representative District 17 introduced himself to the Board and shared his platform on which he’s running. He will be at the Republican Candidate Meet and Greet Thursday, April 14th at the Corning Community Center at 7:00 pm.

Shipley moved, seconded by Dixon to accept the letter from Taylor County terminating the 28E Agreement with Taylor County for the shared IT Director effective May 31, 2022. All supervisors voted aye.  Motion carried.

Maynes moved, seconded by Dixon to approve the claims as follows. All supervisors voted aye.  Motion carried.

Akin moved, seconded by Maynes to approve the Recorder’s Quarterly Report presented by Jamie Stargell. All supervisors voted aye.  Motion carried.

            Jamie Stargell presented information on a text program that would allow the county to push notifications to anyone that signed up for the service.  

            The board is still waiting for information from DCI on the cost for schematic design from OPN.

Department Head Reports – Secondary Roads – Karl McCarty said the department is continuing to haul rock and doing some mud jacking on culverts and roads.  IT – Tom Williams has seen an uptick in Phishing scams. Auditor – Becky Bissell sent email to department heads requesting budget amendment information. They are due by Friday April 15, 2022.

            The meeting was adjourned at 10:30 am.  All supervisors voted aye.  Motion carried.
