Nodaway, Iowa
The first land purchase near present-day Nodaway was made by James Harlow in 1854. Several building were erected in the following years, and by the late 1860s, Nodaway was one of the stops on the popular Chicago, Burlington and Quincy Railroad.
The town of Nodaway was officially incorporated on May 28, 1900. The town’s population would remain near its high of 340 until the 1940s. As of the 2010 census, Nodaway has a population of just over 110 residents.
